The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Surgery Center. The Coordinator collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of the OR and Pre‑op/PACU departments, monitor and evaluate nursing care, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions- Assists with the implementation, delivery, and evaluation of patient care services and the Center's goals/objectives, striving to exceed performance measurements set annually by administration.
- Supports change initiatives through effective communication, creating buy-in and understanding within the team.
- Assists in coordinating the smooth functioning of the OR and Pre‑op/PACU departments, ensuring maximum productivity and quality of patient care.
- Works with the Leadership Team to evaluate and ensure the implementation of patient care from admission to discharge, according to facility policy and procedure.
- Monitors and evaluates nursing care in relation to established standards and facilitates quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, state and federal regulations, and all facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Manager to prepare the department for licensure and accreditation reviews, ensuring compliance with all standards.
- Promotes multi‑disciplinary collaboration to ensure a coordinated approach to healthcare.
- Participates in the Quality Committee to facilitate the improvement of patient care.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and interpersonal relationships with physicians, associates, and other stakeholders.
- Protects company assets and ensures the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Defines educational needs and actively supports staff development activities.
- Sets goals and evaluates progress annually for all clinical teammates.
- Works with the Clinical Manager on quality assurance and quality improvement plans.
- Assesses delivery of care and patient outcomes through rounds, committees, quality assessment, performance improvement activities, and patient surveys.
- Assists physician and anesthesia personnel as needed.
- Completes all teammate/patient event and variance documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
- Maintains attendance according to guidelines and policy established by the facility.
- Provides notification for unscheduled absences or tardiness according to departmental procedures.
- Maintains certification requirements and submits required certifications to facility management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager or Administrator.
- Plan and coordinate process improvement activities.
- Functions as the center liaison between medical staff and team members when both the Clinical Nurse Manager and Administrator are not available.
- Complies with facility clinical data (e.g., IP surveillance, Safe injection practice surveillance) and collaborates with the Clinical Manager to prepare monthly reports.
- Employee Health Nurse—responsible for monitoring the health status of team members regarding initial employment and annually.
- Education Nurse—oversight of continuing education for all team members.
- Registered Nurse for five (5) plus years required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Ambulatory Surgery Center, Emergency Department, Med‑Surg Unit, or hospice experience preferred.
- OR Circulator experience of three (3) plus years is desirable.
- Pre & Post Operative of three (3) plus years is desirable.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required based on ASC patient minimum age.
- Ambulatory Surgery Center, Emergency Department, Med‑Surg Unit, or hospice experience preferred.
- Proficiency in clinical service and materials/inventory management.
- Building strong relationships with Physicians.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Monday to Friday
