Overview
Full‑time opportunity for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) in the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery practice at Winter Park, Advent Health.
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a physician acting as the collaborative practitioner.
- Perform physical examinations of surgical patients including new patient visits, established and follow‑up visits, and pre‑ and post‑operative care.
- Assist within scope of practice during procedures as required.
- Participate in hospital rounding, patient education, and discharge summary preparation.
- Manage and close complex lacerations, wound care, dressing changes, debridement, and suture removal.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests such as routine laboratory studies, X‑rays, and related imaging.
- Monitor the patient’s course of treatment and make appropriate referrals to a physician or specialist when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide consistent patient care and support staff as necessary.
- Display a caring and professional attitude at all times and maintain personal and professional growth.
- Evaluate cardiac, renal, vascular, dermatologic, and gastrointestinal systems, particularly as they relate to body edema.
- Show interest in lymphatic care; training will be provided.
- Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (out‑patient).
- Main location:
Advent Health Winter Park.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong medical decision‑making skills.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
- Preferred surgical experience.
- Minimum five years of experience practicing as an APRN or PA‑C in plastic surgery.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license.
- Current, valid DEA license.
- Certification by NCCPA, ANCC, or another nationally recognized certification organization.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
