Full-time, three 12‑hour shifts. Days, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (with weekend rotation). 200 N Lakemont Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792.
Job Description OverviewThe Surgical PCU is a 20‑bed private unit caring for high acuity medical and surgical patients. The unit includes state‑of‑the‑art equipment, ARJO/ceiling lifts, bikes, ocular equipment, and bariatric suites. The team has on‑site intensivist coverage 24/7 and a collaborative, multidisciplinary culture.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
- Effective verbal and oral communication and problem‑solving skills.
- EKG proficiency (as per unit requirements).
- Fluent in English (read, verbal, and written).
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Windows‑based programs.
- High level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plans of care.
- Associate’s of Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor’s of Nursing (Preferred).
- N/A.
- 1+ year acute care hospital setting (Preferred).
- Registered Nurse (RN) (Required).
- Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) (Required).
Physical Requirements -
Pay Range$31.53 – $52.24
