What You'll Do
As a Construction Materials Technician, you'll travel to active construction sites and perform testing that helps keep projects on track and built to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:
+ Conducting field testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils.
+ Performing concrete sampling, slump testing, air content testing, and preparing test specimens.
+ Evaluating soil compaction, density, and other geotechnical properties through field testing and sampling.
+ Inspecting and testing asphalt materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
+ Operating and maintaining nuclear density gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
+ Recording and communicating test results accurately and efficiently.
+ Supporting quality control and quality assurance efforts on major construction projects.
+ Working closely with project managers, contractors, engineers, and construction teams.
+ Maintaining a strong commitment to safety while working on active job sites.
What We're Looking For

Preferred qualifications include:
+ Experience working in construction, engineering, materials testing, or a related field.
+ Familiarity with concrete, asphalt, or soil testing procedures.
+ Ability to work independently and confidently in outdoor construction environments.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills.
+ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
+ High school diploma required; college coursework in engineering, construction, or a technical discipline is a plus.
+ ACI certification or previous Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment
This is a field-based position with daily travel to construction sites throughout Eastern North Carolina. This is a Contract position based out of Winterville, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.50/hr.
