Position Title
Elementary School Special Education Teacher SY)
Position SummaryA successful candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team and have strong oral and written communication skills. Appropriate DESE licensure in Moderate is required and candidates should have previous experience working with elementary school students with a variety of disabilities including Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment, Communication Disorders, etc. Restraint training and three years of experience is preferred.
RequiredExperience
- Strong behavior management skills
- Collecting and analyzing behavioral and academic data
- Providing specially designed instruction in both inclusion and pull‑out settings
- Scheduling integration time for students
- Providing supervision to paraprofessionals
- Supporting social skills development
- Differentiating instruction
- Knowledge of a variety of academic programs
- Evaluating students using a variety of assessments (e.g., WIAT, GORT, TOWL, CTOPP, etc.)
- Writing reports, goals, IEPs, and progress notes
