Macfeat Classroom Assistant F26

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher as directed or planned:
  • Implement lesson plans.
  • Supervise small and large group activities as needed.
  • Gather and prepare teaching materials.
  • Attend to daily routines: toileting, dressing, snack, lunch, rest, and others.
• Supervise learning activities:
  • Actively participate with the children at all times.
  • Enforce safety rules.
  • Support children through the conflict resolution process.
• Cooperate with the lead teacher in establishing and enforcing Macfeat’s guidance policy.
• Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment by organizing and cleaning classroom materials, supplies and equipment as requested.
• Satisfy requirements described in South Carolina Childcare Licensing Regulations and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing a degree in one of the following programs:
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Elementary Education
  • Special Education
  • Human Development and Family Studies

• Strong communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families and Macfeat staff
• Respect for families and honor their differences in lifestyles and strengths

Pay Rate $9.00-$10.25 hour
