Registered Nurse (RN) | Intermediate Care
Location: Wisconsin Rapids, WI Agency: Magnet Medical Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Days – 3 days × 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 8/24/2026
Travel Nurse Source and Magnet Medical are seeking a qualified IMC RN in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin (54494). As an Intermediate Care Registered Nurse, you will deliver specialized nursing care to patients requiring higher monitoring and intervention than general medical‑surgical patients but not intensive care unit (ICU) level care. You will assess, monitor, and manage patients’ conditions in collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure timely, effective care.
- Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status upon admission and throughout their stay, monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation levels, and other physiological parameters, and respond promptly to acute changes.
- Clinical Care and Interventions: Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy in dosage, administration, and therapeutic monitoring; manage ventilated patients, administer blood products, and titrate vasoactive medications under physician supervision.
- Critical Thinking and Decision Making: Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize care needs, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with physicians and team members to modify care plans based on ongoing assessments.
- Patient and Family
Education:
Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies; provide emotional support and address concerns to promote informed decision‑making. - Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic medical records; communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and ensure continuity of care.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and nursing practice standards; participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary rounds to enhance clinical outcomes.
- Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Respond to medical emergencies and crises within the IMC unit, initiate rapid interventions, stabilize patients, and maintain proficiency in ACLS and other relevant emergency procedures.
