McKinley Paper’s Wisconsin Mill, located in Combined Locks, Wisconsin, is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead for a temporary assignment lasting 6 to 8 months. As part of McKinley Paper, a division of Bio Pappel, the Wisconsin Mill is the company’s largest facility and has a proud history of innovation and manufacturing excellence dating back to 1889. The mill specializes in producing high-quality recycled container board, natural kraft packaging, bag, and other paper products.

The Accounts Payable Lead will play a key role in implementing new software to automate the accounts payable process, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
- Post business transactions, process invoices, and verify financial data to maintain accurate accounts payable records.
- Provide clerical support necessary to fulfill the organization’s payment obligations.
- Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Review and assemble invoices for payment, obtaining proper approvals as required.
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, and correspondence for record-keeping.
- Check vendor files for previous payments and assign voucher numbers.
- Prepare vouchers with detailed invoice information in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and verify invoices against purchase orders, ensuring goods or services were received before issuing payment.
- Assist with the implementation of new software to automate accounts payable processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- 2-4 years of related accounts payable experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is helpful.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods while working on a computer and lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
