Senior Accountant

Overview

• Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements.
• Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Assist external auditors and provide required statements and information for the annual audits.
• Review budget reports and assist other departments to prepare annual budgets.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment.
• Proficient use of personal computers, practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word.
• Able to travel as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
• Five years or more of related experience required.
• CPA and/or CMA designation preferred.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
