The Assistant Tribal Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Keshena, WI, supporting the Tribal Administrator in the daily operations of the tribal government. This position assists with coordinating departmental activities, preparing reports, and monitoring program performance to ensure alignment with tribal policies and strategic priorities. The role includes drafting correspondence, supporting budget and grant administration, and helping to implement policies and procedures.
The Assistant Tribal Administrator works closely with tribal leadership, department managers, and community stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving. This role may also support special projects, attend meetings, and help maintain compliance with applicable tribal, federal, and state regulations.
- Ability to support administrative operations, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of tribal government activities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to assist with project tracking, program implementation, and reporting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Capacity to analyze information, interpret policies, and contribute to sound decision-making and problem resolution.
- Experience or education in public administration, business, tribal governance, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with tribal leadership and departments while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Comfort working in an on-site environment in Keshena, WI, with an understanding or willingness to learn about Menominee culture and governance.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email) and general office equipment.
