Inventory Analyst

Summary:

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs. This role plays a critical part in preventing overstocking and stockouts through data-driven forecasting, sales trend analysis, and ongoing performance monitoring. Acting as a bridge between procurement, sales, and warehouse operations, the Inventory Analyst ensures efficient product flow and accurate inventory control across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Forecasting:
    Analyze inventory data and sales trends to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Inventory Monitoring:
    Track inventory movements and performance to reduce shortages, excess stock, and aging inventory.
  • Discrepancy Resolution:
    Investigate inventory variances, reconcile discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Partner with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless coordination and product availability.
  • Reporting & KPI Management:
    Develop, maintain, and analyze dashboards and reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory turnover, fill rates, and stockout risks.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methods
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Syteline, IFS, or similar ERP systems (asset)
  • Valid passport and driver's license, with the ability to travel within Canada and the U.S.
Physical Demands

This role involves regular use of hands for handling tools and materials. You may also be required to sit frequently, and occasionally stand, walk, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodation will be provided where necessary.
