Operations Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
This role reports to the Purchasing Manager and provides contracted service procurement across the mill. It supports SAP P90 procurement functions, coordinates plant contracted services, manages specified mill material vendors, and creates analytical spend reports. The manager is frontline leadership for mill truck drivers and plant services teams and performs work onsite.
Key Responsibilities- Act as point of contact for mill‑wide contracted services (janitorial, waste management, pest control, snow removal, lawn care, etc.)
- Oversee plant services and truck crews’ daily activities and performance
- Review and process purchase requests; resolve invoice issues
- Interview suppliers to obtain product, market, price, service, and delivery information
- Source contracted services, negotiate vendor contracts, prepare and publish specifications for bids, evaluate bid responses
- Verify supplier service history and determine ability to meet contract specifications
- Conduct market research and lead cost‑reduction initiatives
- Provide advanced Excel‑based analytical reporting for key initiatives
- Lead daily staff meetings to review key business initiatives and safety topics
- Assist maintenance planners, coordinators, and engineers with work order placement, parts ordering, and service requisitioning
- Perform other administrative duties related to services as assigned

- Flexibility – willing to take on projects that challenge the team and work across functional teams
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field and/or 5+ years of on‑the‑job experience in industrial services and component procurement
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in an industrial setting (union environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of SAP P90 or newer with preference to procurement and reporting
- Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills for reporting and data analysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to communicate with external resources and cross‑functional teams
