Key Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs for landscape, hardscape, grading, and site work
- Build detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment & subcontractors (usually only irrigation)
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare competitive bid proposals and scopes of work
- Maintain organized bid tracking and documentation
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth handoff after project award
- Attend occasional pre-bid meetings and site walks
- Build & maintain relationships w/ GC estimators
- Experience in construction estimating (landscape, site work, or hardscape)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Understanding of construction materials, prod rates, and job costing
- Proficiency with estimating software (LMN), spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools (Bluebeam) - All preferred - not required
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
