Hometown Builders Unlimited is hiring an experienced Deck Construction Foreman to join our growing team in Slinger, Wisconsin.
We are one of Wisconsin's premier outdoor-living contractors, specializing in custom decks, covered porches, screen rooms, outdoor kitchens, and high-end backyard transformations. We are looking for a skilled construction leader who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship, knows how to lead a crew, and wants to build projects that stand out.

What You’ll DoAs a Deck Construction Foreman, you will be responsible for leading an on-site construction crew and managing the daily execution of custom outdoor-living projects.
Your responsibilities will include:- Leading and directing a deck construction crew
- Reviewing plans, project details, and material lists before construction
- Coordinating daily tasks and keeping the crew productive
- Constructing custom decks, porches, stairs, railings, and outdoor structures
- Ensuring projects are built according to plans, building codes, and company standards
- Monitoring craftsmanship throughout every phase of construction
- Communicating jobsite progress, material needs, and potential challenges
- Documenting daily progress with jobsite photos and updates
- Maintaining an organized, professional, and safe jobsite
- Training and developing less-experienced crew members
- Identifying problems early and helping create effective solutions
- Protecting customers' homes and providing a professional experience
- Completing projects safely, effectively, efficiently, and consistently
The ideal candidate is an experienced carpenter and confident leader who can take ownership of a project from start to finish.
You may be a strong fit if you have:- Previous deck, framing, carpentry, or residential construction experience
- Experience leading a construction crew or small team
- Strong knowledge of framing, decking, stairs, and railing installation
- The ability to read construction plans and project specifications
- A high standard for quality and attention to detail
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to plan ahead and keep projects moving
- A professional attitude when working around homeowners
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Your own basic hand tools
- The ability to safely lift construction materials and work outdoors
- A desire to grow as a builder, leader, and professional
Experience with composite or PVC decking, aluminum railings, covered structures, waterproofing systems, and helical-pier foundations is valuable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
