General Surgeon Position Overview

As a General Surgeon at Vernon Health, you will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients in Viroqua, Vernon County, and the surrounding Driftless Region. You will work within a reputable critical access hospital and trauma program, supporting both inpatient and outpatient surgical needs. The role includes an active outpatient practice, opportunities to perform procedures in rural health clinic settings, shared general surgery call, and collaboration with primary care, emergency medicine, GI, orthopedics, nursing, anesthesia, rehabilitation, and other members of the patient care team.

Vernon Health s surgical environment includes four state-of-the-art surgical suites supporting GI, orthopedic, and general surgery practices, along with a fully renovated emergency room and urgent care space designed with private patient rooms and a calming, therapeutic environment.
