Cardiothoracic Surgeon

seeks a cardiothoracic surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage at an inpatient facility and operating room in Wisconsin. In this role, you will perform complex cardiothoracic procedures, manage inpatient consults, and oversee pre- and post-operative care. You'll collaborate closely with hospital care teams, participate in call coverage, and ensure high-quality, safe patient outcomes. This contract role offers the opportunity to support critical patient access needs while working with a collaborative, mission-driven staffing partner.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgeries in the OR, including emergent and elective procedures
• Provide inpatient consults, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative care
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and tests to guide surgical planning
• Participate in rounding, care conferences, and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Document all encounters, procedures, and orders in the medical record accurately and timely
• Adhere to hospital protocols, quality standards, and patient safety guidelines
• Provide on-call coverage for cardiothoracic surgical emergencies as scheduled
