Provide emergency medical care at regional hospitals in the Northwoods of Wisconsin Manage patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans Collaborate with APCs and support staff in a mostly single coverage setting Handle a patient admission rate of approximately 20% Provide coverage across various shifts, with some overlap and flexibility Maintain compliance with hospital policies and medical standards Participate in disaster and emergency preparedness protocols when necessary What You Need:
Medical license to practice in Wisconsin Valid DEA license Board Certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine Good standing with NPDB/File clearance Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting Physical and mental endurance for shift work A passion for outdoor activities and rural healthcare About the Assignment:
This position involves coverage at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital, a regional hospital nestled in the scenic Northwoods of Wisconsin. The facility offers a welcoming environment for physicians who enjoy outdoor recreation such as hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and fishing. The hospital provides a supportive team structure with predominantly single coverage shifts and some overlap, ensuring a manageable workload. Local providers are preferred to minimize travel issues during winter months, and orientation is compensated at $150/hour.
