St. Mary’s Visitation Parish School, a thriving K–8 Catholic school in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, is seeking a dedicated and faith‑filled Junior High English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Position OverviewThe Junior High ELA Teacher will lead engaging instruction for students in grades 6–8, developing strong skills in reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
This educator will cultivate a love of language while integrating Catholic values into daily learning.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based ELA instruction for grades 6–8
- Foster student growth in reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and critical thinking
- Create a structured, positive, and faith‑centered classroom environment
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with students and families
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into curriculum and classroom culture
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Current Wisconsin teaching license (or ability to obtain)
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Practicing Catholic preferred
