Job Description & How to Apply Below
Responsibilities
- Planter/Pastor. We do not need a high entrepreneurial church planter since we are already a year old, but there’s still a lot to plant and develop. We need a pastor who can continue to lead in the planting of this church and lead our missional charge as well as a leader who makes disciples and shepherds the church.
- Preaching/Teaching. As the main preaching pastor, prepare and deliver biblically sound and faithful sermons by exegetically preaching through books of the Bible and develop elders and others to preach.
- Vision Casting. Work alongside the elders to develop, communicate and implement the long-term vision and strategic direction of the church.
- Leadership Development. One who sees gifts in others and equips them for ministry. A leader who sees potential in elders and the congregation and who develops the next generation of preachers and leaders.
- A Disciple-maker. A disciple maker who makes disciples and develops others to be disciplemakers. A leader who creates a disciple making culture in the church.
- Pastoral Care. A shepherd to care for our flock, provide some biblical counseling, perform weddings and funerals and oversee visitation ministries for the sick or injured.
- Community Engagement. We desire for Creek Community to be known and respected by our village. From working and knowing our schools to service opportunities, we want to build a strong reputation from our city leaders and neighbors.
- Missional Leader. Casting vision and equipping others to be sent into their neighborhoods so that more people in our village might know and follow Jesus.
- Organizational Leader. Create systems and structures that build a trellis for the vine. Oversee church operations and coordinate with lay leaders from administration to delegation.
- Strong Communicator. We are looking for someone who can communicate well and respond quickly to questions and needs of our people.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Mature Believer. Demonstrates evidence of a strong personal relationship with God, possessing the spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching and discernment.
- Education & Experience. A Master’s degree in Divinity (M.Div.) preferred or we would consider an alternative theological degree, a related field or an ordination, alongside extensive ministry experience (5+ years in a pastoral role).
- Communication Skills. Refined and experienced public speaking, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
