Gateway Technical College is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader to serve as Dean of Business & Workforce Solutions (BWS) and the School of Manufacturing, Engineering & Information Technology (MEIT)—a distinctive leadership role at the intersection of higher education, workforce development, and economic growth.

This position requires a leader who can successfully operate in both worlds: driving the business development, sales, and delivery of customized workforce training while providing strong academic leadership for programs in manufacturing, engineering, and information technology.

Central to the role is the ability to build trusted relationships with employers, understand their evolving talent and training needs, and translate those needs into responsive educational solutions. From global employers such as Snap-on, SC Johnson, CNH Industrial, Haribo, Microsoft, and Eli Lilly to the region’s many small and mid‑sized businesses, the Dean will serve as a key connector between industry and the college—leading a talented team, strengthening academic and workforce programs, expanding partnerships, and positioning Gateway as an indispensable workforce solutions partner for southeastern Wisconsin.

Ensure programs remain high-quality, relevant, and responsive to evolving student, workforce, community, and industry needs.

Advance instructional practices and program strategies that support student engagement, persistence, completion, and successful post‑graduation outcomes.

Strengthen employer, industry, and community partnerships and expand Gateway's role as a responsive education and workforce solutions partner.

Use data, assessment, stakeholder feedback, and continuous improvement to strengthen program quality and institutional outcomes.

Align people, resources, programs, and partnerships with institutional priorities to maximize student, employer, and community impact.

• Provide operational oversight for assigned academic programs and instructional areas.
• Oversee enrollment, scheduling, faculty assignments, student records, academic progress, budgets, facilities, equipment, and reporting.
• Monitor enrollment, retention, completion, placement, and other relevant outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with College policies, WTCS requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable academic requirements.

• Develop short‑and‑long‑term strategies aligning programs, resources, staffing, and priorities with institutional goals and workforce needs.
• Monitor workforce, industry, community, and educational trends to identify opportunities, emerging needs, and risks.
• Identify opportunities for new programs, program enhancements, credentials, partnerships, and other initiatives.
• Use data and stakeholder feedback to strengthen program quality, student outcomes, and institutional effectiveness.

• Build productive relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, employers, community partners, and professional organizations.
• Represent assigned academic areas and the College through community, industry, professional, governmental, and institutional activities.
• Establish and maintain employer and industry relationships to identify workforce needs, program opportunities, and resources that support student and institutional success.
