SummaryOnce Upon a Time Schoolhouse in Belleville, WI is looking for a part-time teacher to work 2:30-5:30, Monday through Friday. This teacher will be responsible for the school-aged children when they have returned from the Elementary School. Teachers must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Teachers will use positive guidance techniques similar to PBIS for classroom management.
The teacher will provide play-based activities for the group of children using developmentally appropriate practices.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, photos, and Pro Care messages.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Ensure the whereabouts and number of children in the group are known at all times.
Represent our center while in the community.
Conduct classroom management techniques using positive guidance.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Requirements- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Have their Assistant Teacher certification or 240 hours of experience as a group leader, school‑age assistant, public or private school teacher, student teacher or practicum, coach, camp counselor, mentor through a community‑based organization, or in another approved setting.
- Complete or obtain required course for licensing requirements.
- Strong attendance record.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching, working with children, or group child care.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification;
Abusive Head Trauma, SIDS, and Mandated Reporter Trainings.
