Location: White Lake

The Youth Minister leads, coordinates, and grows the parish’s ministry to middle school, high school youth, and young adults fostering an environment where young people encounter Christ, deepen their Catholic faith, and build meaningful relationships within the Church community. This role blends pastoral care, program leadership, creativity, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is faith-filled, organized, and passionate about walking with young people on their spiritual journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive youth ministry programs for grades 6–12 including middles school religious education, leading confirmation process, SP Teens youth group, and young adult group
  • Plan and lead weekly gatherings, retreats, service projects, and special events for all program groups. Prepare all materials and supplies in advance and manage full setup and cleanup for each session
  • Build relationships with young adults, youth, and families, offering pastoral support and encouragement
  • Coordinate youth and young adult participation in liturgical ministries, parish events, and service opportunities. Working with the other departments in our parish
  • Prepare and manage the youth ministry budget, set program and parish calendars, and daily office tasks
  • Communicate regularly with parents, volunteers, and parish leadership via emails, letters, and social media
  • Maintain safe environment standards and ensure compliance with diocesan policies
  • Lead sacramental preparation for Confirmation, forming students for the final stage of initiation into the Catholic faith
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Church teaching and a commitment to living the faith
  • Experience in youth ministry, catechesis, or related pastoral work, with a strong focus on engaging and forming teenagers
  • Excellent communication, relational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute programs with attention to detail
  • Comfortable with technology, social media, and digital communication tools
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by ministry needs

This role is rooted in the Church’s call to accompany young people, nurture their gifts, and help them grow as disciples who participate fully in parish life. The youth minister serves as a bridge between the Church and its young members, fostering belonging, faith formation, and joyful engagement.
