Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
The EHS Coordinator oversees all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance within the organization which has operations in multiple states. This position ensures full adherence to Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA), Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Environmental Protection Agency regulations, develops and implements safety programs, manages audits, and promotes safety culture across all company operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret changes to federal, state and location regulations
- Maintain all necessary permits, licenses and reporting obligations
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and investigations
- Develop, implement and maintain safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular training and refresher sessions for new, existing employees and contractors on regulatory and company safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain a budget
- Maintain Training Files for new hires and task training
- Lead safety talks, job safety analyses, and emergency drills.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and property damage to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related field preferred.
- OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- MSHA Part 46/48 Trainer certification preferred
