• Develop robotic programs for forge lines and machine tending
• Participate in cross-functional teams to identify, address and resolve problems associated with automated manufacturing
• Develop PLC programs for automated processes
• Communicate with other departments in order to determine and support their engineering needs
• Identify areas to improve automated design, reduce cost and better manufacturing processes
• Aid in the development of project cost estimates
• Work with the electrical department to coordinate projects that involve wiring, power supply and installation
• Act as a technical resource for automation projects
• Initiate purchase order requests
• Use Auto Cad Electrical to design and blueprint circuits, PLC layouts and cellular wiring packs
• Serve as an internal trainer for employee/robot interface
• Keep up to date on new developments in the field of engineering and automation
• Be responsible for the research, support & development of new and improved products and processes
