Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, and improving industrial ovens and thermal processing systems that meet engineering standards, customer specifications, and cost objectives. This role collaborates closely with customers, vendors, engineering teams, manufacturing, and quality departments to develop reliable and efficient equipment solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support cross-functional engineering and manufacturing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop industrial ovens and thermal processing systems in accordance with engineering standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Research new technologies, components, and manufacturing processes to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Collaborate with customers and vendors on equipment design and technical specifications.
- Redesign and improve existing products to enhance productivity, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Evaluate and select mechanical components and materials for equipment designs.
- Work closely with Electrical Engineering and other departments to resolve technical and production-related issues.
- Serve as a technical resource for Sales, Aftermarket, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing, design, and quality.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites for project support and technical assistance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- 3-5 years of related mechanical engineering experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing experience is desirable.
- Automation and material handling design experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
- Experience with AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD software preferred.
- Familiarity with PDM, CAD Link, FEA, CFD, and ERP systems is a plus.
