Location: GreenvilleOperations Engineer Manager II – GAC Appleton
Responsible for managing, planning, and directing operations engineering and industrial engineering activities within a manufacturing business unit to meet corporate goals for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related curriculum or equivalent combination education and experience. 7 years experience in aviation maintenance, manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering. Minimum 2 years supervisory, team lead, or project management experience. Advanced degrees count for up to 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (PhD) in applicable fields.
Responsibilities
Plan and develop the Operations Engineering function for the MBU, leading process optimization and lean manufacturing implementation.Provide technical and management direction to subordinates, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency. Mentor, coach, and develop future leaders.Develop, plan and implement MBU layout, process flow, tooling/equipment, material handling, and cost and quality improvements. Coordinate cross‑functional activities and ensure shop‑floor best practices are applied to new product development installs.Oversee development of daily work planning for each manufacturing area, generating department metrics.Analyze work performance reports to manage individual performance; maintain accurate records and computerized data.Guide employee career growth.Develop and monitor budget requirements; control expenditures to meet approved budgets.Prioritize workloads and monitor progress on all activities.Ensure GAC and QIP policies are practiced and recommend quality improvement procedures.Manage facilities master plans and oversee improvement projects and maintenance effectiveness.Design environmentally conscious plans and provide a safe, healthy workplace.Provide guidance on capital investments for cost reduction and quality improvement.Support concurrent engineering initiatives to ensure smooth new product development implementation.Ensure adequate operations and industrial engineering support for assigned areas.Additional Responsibilities
Provide leadership with ideas or suggestions for new technology or methodology to achieve world‑class manufacturing and material performance.Qualifications
- In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering, including configuration requirements, tooling design, quality, plant safety, and lean principles.
- Demonstrated leadership development experience.
- Strong communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
