Maintenance Planning And Execution Leader

Hiring Salary Range: $135,400 - $203,100

***$15,000 sign-on bonus and Relocation is available for any successful external applicants for this role***

This position is responsible for leading maintenance planning and execution, scheduling, work management processes. This position will ensure maintenance work is planned, scheduled and executed in a manner that supports safe, reliable, compliant and cost-effective operation of generating assets. They will work to align daily maintenance activities, outage work and long-range maintenance plans with station and cooperative objectives to maintain plant reliability.

This position will provide leadership for the development, coordination and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies, outage planning, work prioritization, resource planning, contractor coordination, plant reliability and related work processes.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Lead maintenance planning, scheduling and work management processes for assigned Dairyland Power Cooperative generation facilities to support safe, reliable and cost-effective station operation.
  • Manage, coach and develop assigned planning, scheduling and work process staff, including setting expectations, assigning work, monitoring performance and supporting employee development.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, outage and long-range maintenance schedules to ensure work is properly prioritized, planned, resourced and coordinated with operations, maintenance, engineering, stores, safety, environmental and contractor personnel.
  • Ensure work order packages are complete and executable, including scope, labor estimates, materials, tools, procedures, drawings, permits, clearances, safety requirements and contractor support needs.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog, schedule compliance, preventive maintenance completion, material readiness, resource availability and work order closeout quality to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead outage planning and coordination activities, including scope development, schedule integration, labor planning, material readiness, contractor coordination, risk review and progress reporting.
  • Support effective use and continuous improvement of EAM and CMMS systems for work planning, scheduling, asset records, equipment history, preventive maintenance, reporting and maintenance process performance.
  • Evaluate completed work orders, equipment histories and maintenance data to identify failure trends, recurring issues, planning gaps and opportunities to improve equipment reliability and work methods.
  • Partner with stores, procurement and maintenance leadership to identify material needs, support staging of planned work and recommend appropriate min/max inventory levels for critical spare parts and new stock items.
  • Assist in developing and managing maintenance budgets, especially for planned projects, outages, contractor support, materials and maintenance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the development, documentation and implementation of improved maintenance planning, scheduling, work management and operational practices, including process maps, procedures, manuals, schedules and training materials.
  • Serve as a member of the plant or generation management team by participating in management meetings, action plan teams, root cause reviews, safety committees, site steering groups and other efforts that support station goals, work culture and Dairyland Power Cooperative values.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education & Experience :
    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, business administration, project management or another field relevant to power generation, maintenance or work management required. A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in utility generation, industrial maintenance, power plant operations, maintenance planning, scheduling, project coordination or related work is required. At least three (3) years of leadership, supervisory or management experience is required.
