We areseekingan experienced and highly organizedprofessionalto support fabrication operations through estimating and drafting coordination. This multi-functional roleis responsible fordevelopingaccurateproject estimates, coordinating drawings, and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have construction, structural steel, or bridge infrastructure experience andpossessstrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
- Prepareaccuratecost estimates for fabrication and installation projects.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Assistin preparing proposals, bids, and contract pricing.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
- Coordinate preparation and review of shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Work with engineers, detailers, and customers to ensure drawing accuracy.
- Review drawings for constructability and compliance with project specifications.
- Manage drawing revisions and approval processes.
- Maintain project documentation and drawing records.
- Schedule and coordinate material shipments and deliveries.
- Plan transportation of fabricated components to job sites.
- Coordinate with trucking companies, installation crews, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor shipping schedules to ensuretimelyproject execution.
- Resolve transportation and delivery issues as they arise.
- Procure raw materials, hardware, coatings, and subcontracted services.
- Issue purchase orders and track material deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor inventory requirements to support production and installation schedules.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in construction, structural steel, bridge construction, or related industries.
- Experience with estimating and drafting coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with CAD software is preferred, but training will be available.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with steel railing, highway infrastructure, structural steel, or miscellaneous metals projects.
- Knowledge of DOT specifications and public infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes.
