Application Engineer

• Provide technical support by phone and email to internal and external salespeople regarding product selection and application
• Develop and communicate solutions for basic product applications under direct supervision
• Gather information and resolve complex field problems, including possible onsite support travel
• Determine product needs and requirements by interpreting industry codes and standards
• Highlight and communicate key selling points of current products to sales teams and customers
• Identify and implement applicable process improvements
• Learn competitor products and apply knowledge to the company's advantage
• Organize and present onsite and offsite training for internal and external customers
• Assist with offsite events, including planning, setup, and basic customer interactions
• Develop awareness of industry-related associations and their purpose
• Potentially mentor, train, indirectly supervise, or directly manage other team members
• Manage basic individual projects according to predetermined completion dates
• Document service calls concerning product questions and field issues

• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required
• 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in engineering required
• Basic understanding of rep network and sales channel
• Ability to interpret industry codes and standards
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone
• Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
• Ability to attend occasional in-person meetings and complete various office tasks

Demonstrates technical support capabilities for product selection and application, with a strong understanding of industry codes and standards. Capable of organizing training and managing projects while effectively communicating with sales teams and customers.
