Job Title Co-op-Industrial Engineering-Reedsville, PA-(January to June 2027) Job Description Are you interested in an internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) degree to participate in a 6 month paid intern opportunities at our site in Reedsville PA. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a Health Tech company.
Your role :To support Operational Excellence initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and productivity objectives. You would collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, finance, and leadership to identify, analyze, and implement process improvements. Success in the role requires building strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, facilitating problem-solving efforts, and effectively communicating change initiatives that drive operational performance.
As a Process Excellence Specialist Co-op, you will have the opportunity to develop professional skills in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, data analysis, project management, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to real-world operational improvement initiatives. Personally, the role helps build leadership, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and confidence by working with diverse teams and driving measurable business results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You're the right fit if:You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material engineering, green belt certified.
Your skills include strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process mapping, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Visio, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Bonus skills include experience with statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), automation tools (Power Automate, VBA), project management principles, and strong communication and facilitation abilities to support cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Should possess strong interpersonal skills such as effective communication, active listening, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. They should also demonstrate critical thinking, curiosity, initiative, attention to detail, time management, professionalism, and the confidence to facilitate discussions, identify improvement opportunities, and influence positive changes in a cross-functional environment.

How we work togetherWe believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an office role.
