Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, and testing of distribution products such as switchboards and panel boards. This role involves designing mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for electrical distribution equipment, including creating 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials. Depending on industry experience, the engineer may focus on new product development or custom designs, or start with sustaining design projects to support manufacturing through print revisions, design changes, and engineering change requests/orders to become familiar with the business.

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for electrical distribution equipment.
• Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials.
• Contribute to new product development and custom designs.
• Support manufacturing with sustaining design projects through print revisions and design changes.
• Manage engineering change requests and orders (ECRs/ECOs).

• Proficiency in Solid Works design with 4+ years of experience.
• 4+ years of experience with engineering changes or design changes.
• 4+ years of experience in sheet metal design.
• 4+ years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• 4+ years of experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Associate degree in a related field may be considered.

The position requires reporting to the Dane office, with the expectation to be onsite three days a week. A hybrid work schedule can be arranged otherwise. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dane, WI.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
