General Responsibilities

Will report directly to the Mohican Gaming Commission, supervise surveillance officers, and work closely with surveillance technicians to provide optimum coverage of all tribal gaming facilities. This position has authority to recommend hiring, firing, and promoting officers within the surveillance department and to work cooperatively with gaming management, law enforcement officials, and other tribal entities to create a central monitoring system for protection of tribal gaming and non‑gaming assets.

Duties
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and keep a low profile regarding gaming issues.
  • Write clear and concise reports.
  • Schedule surveillance officers to ensure minimum/maximum coverage at all Stockbridge‑Munsee owned and operated gaming sites.
  • Accurately record timesheets, vacation/holiday requests, perform evaluations on surveillance officers, take corrective action on officers who violate department procedures, review incident reports, keep an updated file on the surveillance officer employee relations list, and gather all facts concerning all reports before forwarding to the Mohican Gaming Commission for review.
  • Operate CC‑TV gaming surveillance equipment and troubleshoot minor equipment failures in the absence of surveillance technicians.
  • Maintain an updated file of all reported suspected scams and subjects involved.
  • Order and maintain supplies for the surveillance department to keep the department running efficiently.
  • Train surveillance officers in all aspects of their duties.
  • Maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record and be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
  • Attend job‑related, in‑service meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  • Adhere to tribal law, other applicable laws, and tribal personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complete any required exams or testing to determine skill proficiency.
  • Take into account that duties and responsibilities are not all‑inclusive and may change based on organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree (transcripts must be provided) or a minimum of four years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
    Law Enforcement, Security, Gaming.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven work history and exceptional attendance record.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule covering all three shifts as outlined by the Mohican Gaming Commission, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to cover in the absence of a surveillance officer during a schedule crisis.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug and health screening, Criminal Investigation Background Check, and obtain a Primary Gaming License through the Mohican Gaming Commission.
  • Willingness to attend all applicable training.
  • Eligible for coverage under the employer’s liability insurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in prior or current employment.
  • Meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance; obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license within 30 days of employment if out‑of‑state; meet guidelines for operating a personal or tribal vehicle under Mohican Nation Insurance.
  • Abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.
  • Disclose all relatives or close friends employed at any of the Stockbridge‑Munsee owned and operated gaming sites.
Training Requirements
  • Learn each department’s internal control procedures operating within any tribally owned gaming facility.
  • Be familiar with minimum internal control standards at tribal, federal, and state levels.
  • Be familiar with the Mohican Gaming Ordinance and the Tribal/State Gaming Compact.
  • Attend any training that enhances productivity of the surveillance officer’s job duties.
  • Receive training in all gaming departments with emphasis on slot, table games, bingo, and cage/vault procedures.
  • Attend sexual harassment training.
Restrictions
  • Candidate will not be employable at any of the Tribe’s gaming facilities for two years after terminating this position (management positions excluded).
  • Six‑month probationary period.
  • Read and sign the confidentiality and restriction policy for this position.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug and health screening; adhere to the Tribe’s drug and alcohol free workplace policy during employment.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Requires a lot of sitting with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/moving up to twenty‑five pounds.
  • Evening, weekend, or irregular shifts required; extended hours possible.
  • Excellent personal hygiene required due to close proximity to others in enclosed areas.
  • Tuberculosis screening and/or TB skin test may be required.
