Cage Cashier - 1st Posting
Responsible for assisting guests with transactions, for balancing booth imprest, and maintaining accuracy throughout all phases of the balancing process.
Essential duties and responsibilities include accurately balancing assigned booth, verifying opening/closing inventory, doing exchanges to keep imprest at set amount, issuing gift certificates to guests, cashing checks, chips, gift certificates and eTICKETs into money for guests, doing "Fill/Credit" requests for Table Pit Area, generating computer slips for slot jackpots and disputes, tracking Title 31 Bank Secrecy Act transactions on the Multiple Transaction Logs, maintaining a working knowledge of facilities, assisting other Cashiers within the Cage, establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with lead persons, supervisor and co-workers, facilitating the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings, held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports, maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record, able to work in either the guest window or service counter window, responsible for repayment of any shortages, and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification requirements include being at least 18 years of age, ability to work variable hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, a High School diploma or its equivalent, effective communication skills, numbers-oriented and computer-literate, knowledge of accounting procedures, minimum of six (6) months money handling experience, knowledge of computers and calculators.
Criminal background minimum requirements include no convictions or pending unresolved charges of sex offenses, felony convictions, crimes related to gambling, theft, fraud, misrepresentation, crimes of violence, domestic violence, drug offenses, and meeting the minimum criminal background requirements necessary to obtain a gaming license as stated in Menominee Tribal Code Chapter 347 and the Tribal Gaming Compact.
Language skills include ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions, respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests. Mathematical skills include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning ability includes ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
Physical demands include regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, stand for long periods of time, do minimal lifting, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment includes operating a calculator and currency counter, and the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Tribal requirements include being able to withstand a background check, be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license, and preference will be given to qualified Menominee or another Native American applicant.
