Slot Technician

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines under the direction of the Slot Technician Supervisor or Slot Shift Supervisor.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines in accordance with gaming regulations.
• Adherence to Menominee Casino Resort Policies and Procedures, Slot Department Procedures, and Gaming Standards.
• Practice of the five basic service standards established by the Menominee Casino Resort.
• Running communication and door status reports and repairing problems daily.
• Logging machines that are troublesome to fix on the Machine Problems sheet with complete explanation of the problem.
• Ensuring the continuous operation of slot machines on the gaming floor by troubleshooting and correcting any issues.
• Helping perform Machine Attendant functions when needed including removing jams and filling e-ticket paper.
• Training and functioning as a mentor for new Slot Department Employees.
• Maintaining records of all machine repairs and maintenance through proper paperwork trail.
• Helping maintain an inventory of parts for all slot machines by logging every part taken out of inventory and any parts that need to be ordered or repaired by the Bench Technician.
• Working with floor personnel to resolve guest questions related to payout and operation of machines and bringing disputes and unusual customer activities to the attention of the Slot Supervisor.
• Using company property in a responsible manner and keeping the Slot Technician shop clean, neat, and organized.
• Assisting the Senior Slot Technicians with installations, conversions, moves, or any other scheduled or non-scheduled slot projects.
• Assisting in ensuring machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.
• Promoting positive Customer Relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record with occasional weekends, evenings, or holidays required.
• Attending workshops, seminars, and monthly staff meetings.
• Providing proper slot machine "Eye" coverage and assisting co-workers when needed.
• Helping keep the gaming floor sections free of debris, including emptying ash trays and pushing in chairs.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualification requirements include:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Electronics experience and/or degree preferred.
• Proficient computer skills a must.
• A minimum of six (6) months experience as a Slot Attendant preferred.

Special qualifications include:

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony.
• Must not have been convicted of shoplifting or stealing within the last five years.
• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
• Applicant must possess a valid picture  Social Security Card.

Language skills include:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to guests and co-workers.

Mathematical skills include:

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

Reasoning ability includes:

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Criminal background minimum requirements include:

• No person shall be eligible for employment at Menominee Casino Resort/Thunderbird complex if they have been convicted, or have an unresolved charge of:
• Any crime which would require compliance with the reporting requirements for sex offenders pursuant to Menominee or Wisconsin law; or
• A felony conviction of any kind in the immediately preceding two years
• A crime of any kind related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years
• A crime of any kind related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years;
• A crime of any kind related to a crime of violence, or involving domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale of drugs, or possession with intent to sell drugs during the immediately preceding two years.
• In addition to the minimum criminal background requirements listed above, employee must meet the minimum criminal background requirements necessary to obtain a gaming license as stated in Menominee Tribal Code Chapter 347 and the Tribal Gaming Compact.
• Hiring in Gaming Position is contingent upon criminal background check.
