Financial Analyst
Overview
Lead and drive the processes to compile and analyze production related financial data such as production volume, crew and throughput variances, consumption of raw material, and other aspects of production. Collaborate with department heads and master data to ensure accurate updating of BOMs and Routings that will drive financial reporting. Present daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and analysis to measure department and plant performance.
Proactively bring forward insights, analysis and recommendations to drive improvements to financial data and improved financial results. Serve as the initial point of contact for these subjects with guidance and approval of Plant Finance Manager.

- Responsible for understanding production order data, providing quality assurances of data including integrity checks, data cleansing and leading work to correct data as needed.
- Serve as the knowledge expert for plant on production order confirmation process and provide assistance, training, or interpretation of the data.
- Create, maintain, and distribute reports to aid in the measurement of plant performance, including the tracking of plant incentive goals or other reports as requested.
- Own the processes to prepare, analyze, and communicate plant line efficiency, material usage, and yield performance. Inclusive of detailed analysis and reporting for giveaway, scrap, trim reporting. Proactively bring recommendations and insights to team for continuous improvements. Connect operational trends, challenges, and changes to bring stronger insights to financial results.
- Provide support to the plant forecast process for areas of assigned financial accountability (i.e. line efficiency, material usage, maintenance, etc.)
- Develop strong working relationships with production departments and leadership. Leverage these relationships to ensure there is a thorough understanding of production order analysis and financial results. Elevate issues as appropriate to the Plant Finance Manager.
- Own all plant Maintenance expenditure reporting, analysis, and communication. Provide insights and analytics on trends and how operational performance has impacted maintenance spend.
- Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, BOMs and Routings as needed. Identify updates that maybe required and make recommendations for changes. Set up regular reviews with department heads to discuss if changes are warranted. Collaborate with master data to implement changes identified.
- Actively engaged with supporting plant continuous improvement activities, including items like monthly cost savings reporting as well as assisting cost savings analytics.
- Assist Plant Finance Manager, Central Finance teams, and Plant Operations team with ad hoc financial analysis of reporting that can aide production in understanding variances.
- Facilitate the costing of new products in SAP. This process would be inclusive of technically entering necessary data into SAP and validating results are in line with expected cost estimate expectations provided by the business units while hitting the expected turnaround time. Work through discrepancies with Master Data, Business Units, and Production Managers. As needed raise questions where there are unique situations to the Plant Finance Manager.
Education and Experience .
- Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university and two or more years financial reporting or accounting experience.
