Position Summary:

Wausau Tile is seeking an experienced, strategic, and business-minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive leadership for the company’s financial strategy, performance, and overall business operations. The CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the President and executive leadership team, providing financial insight and guidance to support profitable growth, operational excellence, risk management, and long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Financial Leadership & Strategy:
  • Serve as the company’s senior financial leader and strategic business partner to the President and executive leadership team.
  • Develop and execute the company’s overall financial strategy in alignment with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Provide financial guidance, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
  • Lead long‑term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Establish and monitor financial goals, key performance indicators, and business performance metrics.
  • Identify financial trends, risks, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement and communicate recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Evaluate strategic business opportunities, investments, capital expenditures, and other initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve profitability, efficiency, cash flow, and overall company performance.
  • Promote financial accountability and sound business decision‑making throughout the organization.
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
  • Provide executive oversight of all accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end financial close processes.
  • Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
  • Analyze financial results, variances, trends, and key performance indicators and communicate meaningful business insights to leadership.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of the company’s financial information.
  • Oversee annual audits and coordinate with external accounting, tax, and financial professionals as needed.
  • Ensure financial reporting supports both operational management and long‑term strategic planning.
Executive & Board Reporting:
  • Prepare and oversee financial materials and presentations for the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
  • Provide regular financial updates regarding company performance, profitability, cash flow, forecasts, and key business trends.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Ensure the President, executive leadership team, and Board have accurate, timely, and relevant financial information to support decision‑making.
  • Support strategic discussions and business planning through financial analysis and modeling.
Cash, Capital & Banking Management:
  • Provide executive oversight of cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and capital management.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions.
  • Oversee banking activities, credit facilities, financing arrangements, and other financial services.
  • Evaluate capital requirements and financing opportunities and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other working capital components to optimize cash flow.
