Position: Police Officer (Training) with Security Clearance
Location: Green Lake

Duties
* Serves as the Police Officer (Training) responsible for development and maintenance of courses, materials, lesson plans, and examinations. Provides guidance to personnel assigned to instruct specialized blocks of instruction.
* Develops, coordinates, and administers in-service law enforcement training and development activities for police officers, military police, criminal investigators, and security guards.
* Provides advice and assistance to all levels of management concerning determinations of security and law enforcement training needs, sources of training support, design and presentation of security and law enforcement training.
* Reviews organization operation plans to include Installation Crisis Management Plan, Bomb Threat Response, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and special events to ensure training coincides with the procedures outlined in the plans.
* Performs a full range of police operations duties as a Department of Army Police Officer.
* Patrols areas of Fort McCoy, WI as directed, including paved/unpaved roads, recreational areas, training areas, cantonment and housing, and ranges.
* Conducts initial police investigations.
* Controls personnel access to Fort McCoy by monitoring the identification and authorization of individuals and vehicles entering sensitive and restricted areas Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Must have completed a Certified Law Enforcement Academy (military, federal or civilian) or be able to complete and pass the Police Academy course.
* Incumbent will be required to perform an annual physical agility test in accordance with AR 190-56 as well as a weapons qualification test commensurate with assigned duties and responsibilities.
* This position is covered by the Individual Reliability Program and as such has been designated by the Department of Army as critical to the national or internal security.
* Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis testing annually under the Drug Abuse Testing Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
* Must have a valid state driver's license.
* This position is covered by the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
* Shift work is required.
* Incumbent will be required to wear a uniform.
* This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
* Those individuals not currently occupying a TDP position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position and periodically thereafter. Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Performing law enforcement support duties in accordance with Federal laws.
2) Assisting with coordinating and/or supporting training activities by preparing materials, scheduling resources, and/or helping maintain training records.
3) Gathering information using interviewing techniques.
4) Maintaining police records and reports.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
