Role Overview

The Director of Operational Services is responsible for the effectiveness, strategic planning, and general day-to-day oversight of the following Village services, functions, and programs:

Streets
Parks
Recreation
Forestry
Engineering
Cemetery
Facilities
Belleville Utilities

Key Responsibilities

They analyze and implement policies and procedures, assist the Administrator and Assistant Administrator in annual and capital budget preparation, project management, and strategic planning, and provide guidance and operational support to internal and external partners. Interaction with staff, the public, and local officials is frequent.

Regulatory Reporting

The Director records, compiles, and reports information to regulatory agencies as required, including the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Public Services Commission (PSC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Madison Metropolitan Sewer District (MMSD), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Dane and Green Counties, State of Wisconsin, and other federal agencies.
