Location: Green Lake

Duties
* Provide emergency services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment.
* Provide initial incident command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene.
* Identify nature of emergency, level of response required based on local protocols, and provide any additional information to the responding units.
* Monitor computerized fire alarm system and other alarm systems such as Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (IDIDS) alarm systems.
* Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response.
* Operate Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, telephones, radios, and station alert systems.
* Provide emergency medical dispatching assistance to callers with medical emergencies. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Within 16 weeks from the date of employment, will be required to demonstrate reasonable proficiency at locally established training guidelines on the use of Enhanced 911 , CAD, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and station alerting software and equipment.
* Position is subject to shift work where the incumbent is required to work an alternate, rotating work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty (including nights, weekends and holidays).
* Incumbent is required to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions or base closure and to report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled time.
* Incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
* Incumbent must pass a pre-employment fingerprint based criminal history investigation for any location that accesses Criminal Justice Information Systems.
* The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
* The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain certification in:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Emergency Medical Dispatch based on the program standards at the location assigned
* Incumbent must complete the Department of Defense Telecommunicator I and II or equivalent based on the program standards at the location assigned.
* Incumbent must complete State National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification based on assigned location.
* Incumbent must complete the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS 100,300, 700, 800, and 907 courses.
* Continuous current certification is a condition of employment.
* The incumbent is responsible for attaining continuing dispatch education (CDE) requirements through in-service training that is offered locally and pass in accordance with predetermined course requirements.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) receiving incoming calls for service and obtaining information necessary to determine the appropriate course of action; and
2) using automated systems to enter, update or maintain service records or other information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04)

Four years education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (

Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
