Join our healthcare team as a Medical Assistant at our Magnolia, Texas location where you'll make a meaningful difference in patient care every day!
Position OverviewAs a Medical Assistant, you'll provide compassionate, direct patient care while serving as a vital link between patients and our medical providers. You'll help create a welcoming, efficient healthcare environment where patients feel valued and well‑cared for.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Create a safe, clean healing environment by maintaining adequate supplies and ensuring proper room preparation
- Conduct thorough pre‑visit planning, implement screening protocols, and identify necessary tests and vaccines according to UDS measures and CDC immunization guidelines
- Welcome and prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, documenting visit reasons and medical history, performing medication reconciliation, and verifying allergies, pharmacy information, and recent hospital visits
- Perform skilled clinical procedures including blood draws, heel sticks, and waived tests while maintaining strict quality control standards
- Prepare and label laboratory specimens according to established protocols
- Coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic, effectively communicating any delays to both providers and patients
- Foster continuity of care through appointment scheduling, phone contact, and clear communication with patients and healthcare team members
- Support patient needs by assisting with medication refills, obtaining durable medical equipment, and coordinating referrals
- Provide professional chaperoning during sensitive examinations and procedures
- Prepare instruments and materials for procedures and assist medical providers as needed
- Maintain sterile environments by properly cleaning and preparing instruments for sterilization following standard precautions
- Uphold infection control practices including hand hygiene, PPE usage, proper cleaning protocols, and safe injection techniques
- Assist with patient translation services and communications to ensure clear understanding
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- High School diploma or GED (required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail‑oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to handling confidential information with discretion and maintaining professionalism
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
