Overview
Gain rewarding experience with Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) — part of LEARN Behavioral. With one in 36 children diagnosed with autism, this entry‑level job is in big demand. As a Behavior Technician at WEAP, you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through a play‑based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Responsibilities- Work with kids 18 months to 6 years old with autism in their homes or in one of our centers.
- Implement ABA-based interventions under supervision to support learning and skill development.
- Monitor and document progress, data collection, and daily activities as part of therapy plans.
- Education requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. - Daily access to reliable transportation.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 (on or before the first day of employment).
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- The ability to pass a background check.
- Bi‑lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Experience with children (e.g., babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or other childcare).
- Interest in training and skills to support a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, counseling, mental health, and related fields.
- Starting pay: $16/hr and up based on ABA experience/training.
- Full‑time employees: up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- Part‑time employees: eligible for sick leave.
- Schedule:
Part‑Time or Full‑Time between 7am–8pm CST, Monday–Friday and weekends.
- In this role you will be working with children in home or center settings, contributing to a collaborative care model as part of LEARN Behavioral.
- WEAP is part of LEARN Behavioral, delivering collaborative care and supporting children with autism and other special needs.
