Certified Nursing Assistant

Positions available at Golden Age Manor, Polk County (WI). Schedules include every other weekend FULL TIME or PART TIME PM (2:30-10:30pm) with starting PM pay of $20/hour ($19.00 base wage + $1/hr shift differential). Full Time or Part Time Days shift (6:30am-2:30pm) with starting NOC pay of $19/hour. Casual all shifts for 18 year old+ with flexible scheduling options available. Incentives for picking up shifts also available!

Higher starting pay for CNAs with long-term care experience. Golden Age Manor Certified Nursing Assistants provide a safe environment, assist with activities of daily living, give emotional and social support and attend to the resident's physical comfort.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties include: working alone giving total care or assisting residents with bed bath, tub bath or shower; dental, hair and nail care, shaving, dressing and undressing, application of make-up; elimination needs including toileting by offering bedpan, urinal or taking to bathroom; ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a walker, wheelchair, mechanical lift, gait belt or lift sheets.

Performing restorative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as instructed. Assisting residents in preparing for activity and social programs and transport, accompany and participate when assigned. Answering call lights promptly. Feeding residents, maintaining intake and output as requested, weighing residents as instructed. Observing and reporting any physical or emotional changes observed in the residents including any complaints or grievances made by the resident.

Knowing and following existing lines of communication and authority. Performing all resident care as assigned and according to facility nursing department's policies and procedures. Reading and following resident's care cards daily to ensure provision of appropriate care. Attending department meetings, mandatory in services and seminars as requested. Maintaining at a minimum of 12 hours training each year per CNA certification.

Maintaining confidentiality of all the department and organizational information. Assuring that all resident rights are maintained at all times. Reporting any violations or suspected deviations according to facility's policy. Following established safety precautions in performance of all duties. Washing hands before and after performing any service for the resident and following infection control guidelines and universal precautions. Keeping wheelchairs, tables, geri chairs, commodes and other resident equipment clean.

Required:

Current Registered Nursing Assistant on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or willing to complete training to be a Nursing Assistant. Possession of a current valid Wisconsin Driver's License or regular means of transportation to and from work.

Additional Information

Competency requirements include: integrity/honesty, superior customer service and community relations, accountability, judgment and decision making, self-management, problem solving, valuing diversity, flexibility, communications, and interpersonal relations. Minimum skills assessment requirements include: ability to operate a personal computer to enter resident data as required by regulation and facility policy, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
