Bus Driver | Care Center | PRN

Location: Hayward

Responsibilities/Duties:

* Safely operate a facility-owned bus or van in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies.

* Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.

* Transport residents to scheduled appointments, outings, and events in a timely and efficient manner.

* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.

* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle at all times.

* Monitor and support the comfort and safety of residents during transit.

* Maintain accurate transportation logs and resident attendance records.

* Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and other departments regarding resident transportation needs.

* Provide exceptional customer service with empathy and respect for elderly and disabled individuals.

Education/

Experience:

* High school diploma or GED preferred.

* Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a clean driving record.

* Previous experience transporting seniors or working in a healthcare or long-term care environment is a plus.

* Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Patience, reliability, and a caring attitude toward elderly residents.

* Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems.

* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policy

* Maintain professionalism

Physical Requirements &

Environmental Conditions:

* Weight to be lifted or forced up to 25 pounds.

* Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, and pull.
