Salary Range: $19.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The Caregiver will be trained in all matters of giving care to the residents according to the state and federal requirements for community based residential facilities (CBRFs). The Caregiver will provide assistance to the residents in their daily activities of living, based on the resident's need and individual service plan(ISP) as well as assistance with medications, social and recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks as needed.

The Caregiver is to be respectful of the resident, family and visitors. The Caregiver is also to establish a safe and pleasant atmosphere for all of the residents at Harvest Home throughout the scheduled shift, carrying out all daily tasks in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote Harvest Home Senior Living Services mission and philosophy in daily work.
  • Maintains professional positive attitude at all times.
  • Be punctual and maintain reliable attendance according to scheduled work times.
  • Reviews the resident ISP as needed to gain and maintain a
  • Reviews the staff communication log on a daily basis at the familiarity with residents’ needs and preferences at the beginning of the shift for information about changes in resident service needs and/or health conditions.
  • Provides personal services to residents as assigned on ISPs.
  • Assists residents with medications and/or treatments as indicated in the medication book, as assigned and allowed by regulation.
  • Responds to calls from residents in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Prepares and serves meals according to menu plan, recipes, and meal times, involving residents in the process as they are able and as they desire.
  • Promotes residents' participation in scheduled group and individual activities according to resident ISPs.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
  • Assists with individual resident and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages resident participation in activities.
  • Monitors for changes in resident needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.
  • Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.
  • Reports any abuse, suspected abuse or alleged abuse to the appropriate authorities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Desire to work with the elderly in a Christian environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.
  • Maintain punctual attendance according to work schedule.
  • Able to organize and utilize time appropriately to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work well with others and to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Good grooming and a willingness to follow dress requirements.
  • Cheerful, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn new knowledge/skills.
  • Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds, and to spend long periods of time walking/standing.

All general requirements:

2. Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health

screening that includes TB clearance - Criminal record clearance and

background checks

3. Current CBRF training as required by state and federal regulations

4. Ability to read, write and understand English

5. General understanding of the needs of the elderly

6. Willingness to learn

Education & Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school graduate or equivalent GED preferred. Experience with elderly individuals preferred. Must maintain current CBRF certifications and meet inservice training requirements.
