Position Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus

Role & Department: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the Therapy & Wellness Center Department

Hours & Shift: Full-time (1.0 FTE) day shift position, Monday through Friday daytime hours

Role Responsibilities:
  • The therapist evaluates, records and reports patient problems and progress for effective communication with other members of the rehabilitation team
  • Assists in the development of new services/programs as needed and assesses needs for such
  • Work areas will include primarily outpatient services but could include some work in other clinical areas such as inpatient, skilled nursing, home health and work in the schools.
  • Physical Therapy Assistants work under the direction of the Physical Therapists and Therapy Center Director
  • Work areas may include the hospital (both inpatient and outpatient settings), skilled nursing facilities, area homes, schools or work places and contract facilities
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be a graduate of an APTA/AMA accredited curriculum program
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State of Wisconsin
  • Prefer candidates with some previous experiences but new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Candidates should have a well-rounded understanding of the rehabilitation processes and have a full understanding of quality patient care
  • Interest in professional growth as demonstrated by attendance at continuing education programs and participation in professional organizations
  • Ability to direct, implement and report on effectiveness of therapy treatments
  • Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
  • Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required
