Mishomis Wellness Center WAGE: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour SUPERVISOR:
Behavioral Health Director

NOOJIMO’IWEWIN AND THE MISHOMIS RECOVERY CENTER ARE DRUG AND ALCOHOL-FREE FACILITIES.

THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the development and management of the Mishomis Recovery Program daily operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Mishomis Recovery Program.
  • Control the master schedule of available rooms, programs and activities
  • Responds to referrals / intakes and complete application process.
  • Collaborate with service team to determine appropriateness of the program for individual clients.
  • Collaborate with Beme’iding Wrap Around Program to facilitate screening assessments to obtain information in determining clients' needs and developing service plans.
  • Prepare and maintain records and case files, including documentation such as clients' personal and services provided, narratives of client contacts, and relevant correspondence.
  • Oversee schedule in accord with program protocols and group/individual service plans.
  • Collaborate on provision of cultural programming that supports AODA treatment strategies and respects individual preferences and differences.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the overall assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individualized plans.
  • Collaborate with Beme’iding Wrap Around Program to ensure seamless warm handoffs from incarceration programming to residential and nonresidential reentry.
  • Implement and continuously improve the policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate periodic client satisfaction surveys to ensure the Mishomis Recovery Program environment is safe, supportive, dignified, and healing-centered, and that programming is comprehensive, responsive, and participant-centered.
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all programs involved with providing services to the tribal community and surrounding area.
  • Maintain proper and adequate documentation for all program expenditures.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all client specific information and data in accord with federal and state guidelines and requirements.
  • Assure healthy boundaries and ethics with clients at all times.

    KNOWLEDGE
  • Sound judgment and the capacity to respond to unusual circumstances and emergencies.
  • Ability to deal constructively with emergencies and conflict.
  • Have the ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to get along with diverse populations (clients, co-workers, professional staff, administration and the public)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity for Ojibwa culture and traditions
  • Work experience or volunteer activities in the field of substance abuse treatment preferred
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    High school diploma, GED, or HSED.
  • Experience working in human services field, preferred.
  • Abstinence from alcohol/drug use is required upon employment and while employed in this position.
  • Must have a history free of alcohol and/or drug use for at least one year, two years preferred.
  • Due to the requirement of abstinence, there may be random drug screening.
  • This position must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license, vehicle, and appropriate vehicle coverage as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
  • PERSONAL CONTACTS

    Considerable daily contact will be made with the general public, tribal leadership, Program Directors and staff, consultant(s), and the Tribal Community.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The duties assigned to this position involve bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Items may be placed in overhead storage or shelving.
