Overnight Substance Abuse

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Overnight Substance Abuse Support professional to provide safety, structure, and compassionate care for adults in recovery. In this on-site, awake overnight role, you will monitor client wellbeing, conduct safety checks, support treatment goals, and document observations using trauma-informed, client-centered approaches. You'll collaborate with day staff, assist in crises and de-escalation, follow care plans, and help maintain a stable, respectful residential environment while advancing LSS's mission of hope and healing.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight monitoring and support for clients in substance use recovery programs
• Conduct routine wellness and safety checks, documenting client status and incidents
• Assist clients in following treatment plans, program rules, and nightly routines
• De-escalate crises using trauma-informed and motivational interviewing approaches
• Administer or monitor medication in accordance with program policies and training
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records and logs
• Communicate client concerns and progress to clinical and day staff via handoffs
• Support intake, discharge, and transportation coordination as needed
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful residential environment
• Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to support quality care
