Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
Position Summary
As a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist, you play a critical role in patient care by serving as the key link between patients, healthcare providers, and the laboratory team. You will perform a variety of phlebotomy procedures to collect blood specimens used for diagnostic testing and treatment.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You will ensure timely and accurate specimen collection while prioritizing physician orders and maintaining the highest standards of safety and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques with accuracy and care
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
- Prioritize and complete physician orders efficiently
- Provide outstanding customer service to patients, physicians, and staff
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Support laboratory operations and workflow as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program
- Certification (ASPT or ASCP)
- One year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician practice
