Treatment Specialist - SUD

Position Summary

This position formulates and implements individual and group assessments, case plans, and treatment in the areas of Evidence Based Practices (EBP) for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and the Earned Release Program as well as administrative and documentation tasks for the RGCI population. This position has oversight responsibilities for SUD groups at RGCI to ensure program performance objectives are met, monitor performance measures, and audit instruments.

This position will also design and develop a continuum of program delivery to serve the target population using the DOC assigned criteria and tools to measure adequate, effective, and efficient program delivery. This position will coordinate with multiple disciplines in the institution to develop, implement, and monitor institution-wide after-care interventions to program completers and will consult with institution management on the progress and outcomes of after-care intervention program.

This position is in pay schedule and range 12-63 with a starting pay of $34.46/hour - $38.08/hour
. The rates within this range relates to years of state seniority. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

This position may receive a $1.50 to $2.00 per hour add-on pay based on the type of SAC credential possessed at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM.

Applicants must possess a current AODA treatment certification from the state of Wisconsin in the form of a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification or Authorized to Treat for Substance Use Disorder specialty certification and will be required to maintain certification during employment.
