Urgent Care Technician

Upland Hills Health - Mt. Horeb Clinic Urgent Care Services

Part-time 0.6 FTE (24 hours a week), Every other weekend rotation is required.

• The Urgent Care Technician will work collaboratively as an active member of the team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care
• The Urgent Care Technician is responsible for obtaining and processing patient information
• Technicians will also be required to assist with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician or Advanced Practice Provider
• Will take vital signs and collect medical histories as needed
• Will use the electronic medical record (EPIC) to record medical information as is directed or needed
• May provide orthopedic support goods such as crutches or braces when needed
• Will provide phlebotomy assistance as needed
• Will identify patient concerns and monitor patient condition and report that information to the Registered Nurse and/or Medical Provider
• Will move, turn or transport patients as required for their comfort and medical needs
• May assist patients with movement for imaging tests or lab draws
• Will prepare and stock rooms as needed
• Tracks and maintains equipment and supplies for department and individual rooms
• Will sanitize and clean patient rooms as needed
• Performs clerical functions as needed, such as processing completed charts, obtaining medical records, placing phone calls as directed, and assisting with admission and discharge paperwork
• Will take responsibility for their professional development and growth as an urgent care provider

• Advanced EMT certification or higher is required
• At least one year of prior work experience in an Emergency, Urgent Care, Hospital or Clinic setting is required
• Prior Emergency Services experience as an EMT or Paramedic is very beneficial but not required
• Phlebotomy experiences are highly desirable or willingness to learn
• Medical terminology experience is beneficial
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
• Outstanding verbal and written skills are required
• Ability to work independently at times
• Should have the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
